Volutes by Diptyque for women and men

Sweet tobacco and vanilla scent. Beautiful, cozy perfume for fall and winter.

Loving "Opium" gave me an appreciation for the embers, resins, and incences.
This does not smell like Opium, but she and Volutes do share some notes.
I suppose I smell the honey and tobacco, but I can't tell for sure.
This is sweet and heavy (but not overpowering) and spicy and earthy (but not dirty).
I do detect a powdery note, but it is dominated by the liberal use of the wide variety of resins.
I haven't detected any fruit notes, but Volutes shows me a different facet of herself (himself?) with every use.
The first time I put this on, it was sweet with earthy (resin) base notes. The second time, it was pure amber, along the lines of Ambre Sultan (I am learning to appreciate that composition and its notes of that composition, much more than I had in the beginning), but tonight the cinnamon and spices took center stage, almost to my surprise.
This is quickly becoming an all time favorite. It is an eclectic, mature scent that is exotic, yet it still somehow manages to avoid taking itself too seriously. Definitely Full Bottle-worthy some day.

Much lighter than I expected, and the longevity was not great on me. Pleasant, but not exciting, might suit you if you're looking for a lighter oriental.

This one is just a bit much for me. So much fruit with tobacco. I have pure havanne by thierry mugler and I thought that was sweet. They share some similarities in the honeyed tobacco notes but the fruits in this just ruin it for me. This is one of the few fragrances that gives me a headache.

It starts out ok but settles into a baby powder smell and nothing else.....my girlfriend and I agree and she has a phobia of having kids so she had a panic attack when she smelled it and ran to the bathroom to hide. I had to get the sample out of the house before she would come out but I tripped and spilled it in the carpet so we had to move.
