A classy citrus
by Michael on Oct 28, 2017
I like this versatile but elegant citrus. My fragrances end up at office more often than not and do enjoy more mature scents.

Mature Masterpiece
by Justin on May 23, 2017
Vetiver and orange done beautifully. Not recommended for the younger crowd, grown men only.

Pleasantly surprised
by Matt on May 22, 2017
I wasn't sure what to expect from a scent of "earthy orange," but this one really surprised me in a good way. If you're looking for a typical summery citrus I'd steer clear, but if you want one with character that can be worn year round with a more distinguished feel, this is a great scent.

Not for me
by Colin on May 18, 2017
I got a sample of this but didn't like it... and I didn't think that I would. The base notes patchouli, vetiver, and cedar are not a favorite combination of mine.
Longevity and sillage were below average on my skin.

My favorite cedar.

Floral or fruity as much as woodsy
by Doug on Mar 31, 2017
It smells decent but while there are some woodsy notes, to me it smells as much floral or fruity as woodsy.

Really tried to like this one
by Ruebennase on Feb 20, 2017
After reading so many excellent reviews about this one, I gave it a try and was more than disappointed. The only thing I like in this fragrance is the orange and grapefruit opening (few seconds). Everything else is horrible. Especially the vetiver-dominated dry down. A friend of mine wears this, and the worst cologne experience I've ever had in my life is smelling him doing sports after wearing Terre d'Hermès for an entire day.

Pine Needle Swamp Forrest
by Rick on Feb 15, 2017
Kind of has an "old guy" or grandpa smell to it but not entirely. It also makes me think of pine needles and swamps. I like it but I can't help but smell the "old guy"/grandpa.

Citrus blast
by Kyle on Feb 12, 2017
Wow, that opening is sharp. Like walking into a cloud of citrus scented cleaner. Definitely too much citrus for my liking, but once you give the citrus a chance to mellow out, it evolves into a really nice woody scent. The citrus is still very much present, but the cedar does a good job of offsetting that aggressive citrus. Classy, classic, masculine.

The cedar in this cologne is divine. It lasts a very long time and it makes me want to follow my husband around when he wears it. Its very sophisticated!

Beyond Disappointed
by Brandon on Jul 6, 2016
After reading about this scent all over the basenotes forums, I was expecting to absolutely love it. Meanwhile, after applying it I couldn't wait to wash it off. I can't even call it an acquired taste, it's just awful. Apparently a lot of people like this one but it is definitely not for everyone, so do NOT blind buy a full bottle of this expecting something that it is clearly not.

Powerful
by Alicia on Feb 17, 2016
This is a powerful citrus fragrance, spicy with and earthy, flinty edge. As a woman I don't mind weariing it in summer. I find it uplifting, and it lasts longer and the regular citrus colognes.

A classic
by Ronny on Jan 11, 2016
This really smells like oranges but with a twist. The earthy notes gives it a more mature feel than most citrucy scents. Classy and elegant, best suited for mature men.

Nice fruity balance

Scent has nice fruity balance, not too soft or strong.

Very Nice Vetiver Fragrance
by Brian on Dec 7, 2015
I get citrus, vetiver, cedar, and patchouli primarily, but there is some well-blended pepper in there as well. This one is very pleasant to my nose, and I might consider getting a bottle if I didn't already have Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee and Encre Noire Sport. With those two already in my collection, Terre d'Hermes seems like it would be a little redundant.

This really grew on me
by Sean on Oct 10, 2015
I was not thrilled with it at first, but the more I wear it, the more I like it. This is perfect for the spring and fall. It has a very mature aura to it, so it may be easier for an older man to wear than a young man.

Gorgeous
by Ruth on Sep 8, 2015
I totally agree with Heather. I'm a woman and LOVE this scent. It's addictive, transporting, mesmerising. I have not felt this way about any other fragrances ever. Magic on both sexes. I catch whiffs of it throughout the day and it instantly stops me in my tracks to appreciate the amazing scent!

Soft, muted orange.
by Zachary on Jan 17, 2015
Not bad at all, don't know why everyone thinks this is bitter. I grew up around orange groves in California and this scent captures that perfectly; a muted, "dirty" (not in a bad way, hard to describe) orange scent. Like an orange hand wash with a little extra spice in the background. Solid fragrance.

Not for everyone
by Hoodie on Dec 13, 2014
It is a spicy scent backed by an extremely tart citrus. It is a good scent but more mature. I don't think everyone can pull it off.

Intoxicating
by Jason on Sep 30, 2014
Sweet and bitter orange/grapefruit, backed by subtle spice and woods. I can't get enough of this stuff, I'm constantly sniffing myself. Award winning fragrance and I can see why. Great Projection and Longevity. A+

True Terre!
by Heather on Jun 26, 2014
I have a few more things to add:
Terre d'Hermes is soft, calm, gentle, relaxing - it truly smells of nature, of 'Terre!' It captures the name "Terre" perfectly - it does have a severely earthy smell. It's a perfect blend of the woods and musk notes. Basically, to put it another way, this is a creation that encapsulates all of the earth's elements: wood, flowers, and stone. Key ingredients of grapefruit and peppers give this fragrance va-va-voom - vigor, and the earthy aromas of vetiver and cedar add richness, smoothness, and suberb aroma!
I absolutely love wearing this fragrance! It is nice and rich and lasts all day on me! I find myself catching whiffs of it even at the very end of the day, and I can certainly smell a hint of it when I awake in the morning...Fantastic! I know, it is very masculine, however blends femininely well with my chemistry! I always get asked what fragrance I'm wearing, and I'm proud to tell the person! I just feel so wonderful when i wear this perfume! Also, it's an extremely grown-up scent, so one won't feel too young and silly like a lot of the sweet scents make you feel. This is sophistication in a very beautiful bottle!

Masculine and earthy
by Adam on May 11, 2014
I found that the vetiver, pepper, and cedar notes really stood out on this cologne. It garnered several complements on the occasions when I wore it. Terre D'Hermes has found its place as an occasional evening rotation in my collection.

For the true connoisseur!
by Heather on Mar 21, 2014
Oh man, I love this one! The fact is that now I’m totally addicted to TdH, and I even use it if I'm just around the house. I read somewhere or heard once that TdH is for the man who is self-confident and doesn’t need to prove anything to others. I totally agree - I don’t care if others like it, I just like it! AND I'm a woman who adores male fragrances...so rich and deep!
I get a lot of the orange, grapefruit, patchouli and pelargonium. This is not synthetic at all and very potent, which is great for me! The mix of orange with vetiver, pepper and patchouli keep this wonderful dark orange-peel scent radiating warmly and invitingly. What makes it more interesting is the addition of cedar. AHhhh, cedar! My great love affair! The bitter side is the pelagonium (geranium family I'm thinking), but it's also what helps keep this so mascuine.
After an hour of first spritzing this gorgeous scent, it gets woodsier and less peppery. The magic of TdH for me is how it captures your senses and doesn’t allow you to grab it or analyze it too much, if that makes sense.
This perfume is for the self-confident and distinctive person! It's amazing, so you should rock it like you are the most amazing human on earth - try that and you'll see!!!

Peppery type scent.
by Jeffrey on Dec 17, 2013
I don't know what to make of this scent. It kind of smells ok to me yet not something that I'm fond of. I think it's due to the pepper notes in it,which I just don't like. It has some citrus and other notes in it,but all I mainly smell is the pepper.

I don't like it

Smells like rotten oranges... doesn't do it for me :(
