Tam Dao by Diptyque for women and men

I am convinced I was a cypress pine in a past life. This scent hit my skin and the cypress went into ballistic overdrive. No other note had a chance in hell. I could almost feel myself growing roots. Absolutely had to scrub it off...it just got stronger and stronger and stronger. Three minutes into this on my skin and my daughter was screaming at me to get away from her. Lols.

It is a discreet. serene fragrance.; it is the perfect fragrance to wear when you want something soothing. Simple and perfect in itself. It is an unisex scent, and can be worn in any season.

This one is primarily a nice mix of sandalwood, cedar, and cypress. After a few hours, it becomes more and more powdery. It's not bad, although I do prefer other woodsy scents personally. I would say the performance is average.

Deep scent, love for night time.

In Tam Dao the woods interplay nicely - the more animalic and wood shavings feel of cedar is considerably softened by velvety sandalwood. It's immediately relaxing, as natural woods are.

I do get the hint of green, the rose and the softness of rosewood (probably adds to the velvety feel)

It's not got a strong sillage, but it does have a lovely dry down, which feels warmly musky with a lovely amber. Subtle though - no obvious vanilla or spice.

I like the fact there's nothing harsh - no loud synthetics. I'm just testing from a sample but would like an EDP spray of this. (I have to say I prefer Tam Dao to Lutens Santal Majuscule, which has too much going on for me and is a bit sickly at first)

Very easy to wear all year round, definitely unisex, natural feeling, lovely for daytime.
Sillage soft. Longevity average - about 3 hours then fades to skin scent, though on clothes it'll last longer

Very nice dry woody scent. Only negative is it just doesn't last on my skin, maybe 2-3 hours at most and then completely vanishes. Will have to try the EDP to compare longevity. While it lasts it is a very nice scent.

This is a masculine scent with some flowery and feminine undertones. I love this scent. In general, I don't like men's cologne. It all smells jocky, and like you're in a men's locker room. This one is complex.

wow...one of, if not, THE best sandalwoods on the market.
the EDP is the best, of course, but the EDT is quite good too...

This fragrance is exactly what I've been searching for! Something spicy and sensual, but not overpowering. I'm a female, but I love wearing slightly masculine fragrances. This one is perfect - it lands on the more masculine side, but when mixed with my natural scents, it smells very sensual.

tuberose and other white florals. it smells amazing, but not really for men...
