Boring
by Birgitte on Jun 3, 2017
Nice and pretty, but boring, generic and lacks character. Forgettable, but it doesn't smell bad by any means. I'm so disappointed, the description sounded heavenly.

An Unexpected Scent!
by KE on May 18, 2017
I have been waiting a long time to try Serpentine. Finally I have, and it is an interesting, perhaps strange perfume. It's extremely different from what I was expecting! From the notes, Serpentine looks like a very bright, sunny, tropical floral fragrance, but it is not at all. Instead it's much darker, dry, a little spicy, and quite serious. It is definitely an oriental rather than a floral. There is only a very vague, soft fruity overtone, probably due to the mango blossom. There is something a bit exotic in it, yes, but not in a obvious way at all. Serpentine is very subtle on me, not loud like others have experienced. In fact, it's hard for me to get enough of it on with the dabber to form a real impression of it. I do not find this an "easy" perfume, and I will need to wear this a lot more to try to figure it out. I hope that perhaps with time I can get more of the exotic, tropical side of this fragrance. Definitely unexpected and worth a try for those looking for an exotic fragrance.

Nasty and cheap-smelling
by lls on Jun 10, 2016
I love Roberto Cavalli Oro, so wanted to try all the other RC perfumes. There is a reason this one is always available at the lowest price. I rarely disagree with Heather, but this time, it's like we smelled two different perfumes. Maybe the tester I found had turned?

I love this perfume! Once it starts to fade it smells even more amazing!

Pretty Scent
by Roberta on Apr 2, 2016
This is so pretty! Not overly sweet and flowery, but just the right mix of lovely things like balsam and gardenia.

strong but nice

Strong florals but I love the woodsy undertone. Mellows as you wear. I suggest adding to pressure points for a nice evening scent.

Scent Cocktail this one!
by Heather on Jan 14, 2016
I just had to add another review of Serpentine, because I have been researching notes in order to layer perfumes ... or scent cocktailing!
I layered this fragrance with Thierry Mugler's Alien Essence Absolue: Serpentine on the back of my neck and on my torso; AEA at the base of my neck, wrists, and elbow pits. I'm telling y'all, these were gorgeous together. AEA really melded with Serpentine, making both of them not so sweet. They sort of played off each other, so to speak!
Try it yourself - you might find it as pleasant as I did...all day long!!

Strong floral notes in this scent. Pretty but strong.

Nice floral with a twist
by Betsy on Dec 16, 2015
I'd really like to rate this 4.5 stars.
It is a pretty standard floral scent, maybe a floriental, but it has "orange" (in the sense of the color orange) notes.
I'm often leery about florayls, and about wood scents as well. But the orange (fruit) rounds out floral and wood notes. They are sweetened by the amber. And the pepper note is quite perceptible. It is what makes the difference between this being just a nice perfume, to the very interesting and beautiful perfume that it is.

Strong and floral
by Sean on Nov 12, 2015
Most of the notes in here are florals. Best suited for spring, but don't use too much; it's very strong.

Very Strong
by Heather on Jan 5, 2014
This scent is pretty. It is almost overpowering in it's strength though. I would not recommend spraying it directly on yourself. Do the air spritz and walk through. The scent lasts well without the strength diminishing.

Excellent Floral-Oriental!
by Heather on Sep 6, 2013
If you know of Roberto Cavalli's jewelry creations, then you know he loves serpents! Serpentine is a very feminine, sensual, and dangerously seductive fragrance! See, snakes loves mango blossoms, and this perfume is built around these blossoms! This is exactly how it's described: composition opens with sweet mandarin notes and mango blossom. The heart introduces exotic Tiare flower and the rich scent of Frangipani blossom, refined by violets and black pepper. The oriental base is built on harmony of Tolu balsam, sandalwood and amber. WELL, that's right on the money - you experience all of the notes at the right time! AND, if you adore Frangipani like I do, then you're in for a real treat! This scent lingers around you for hours on end. It's so yummy and enticing! I have to have it in my collection at all times! Simply GORGEOUS!
