Heavy rose/patchouli
by Laurel on May 19, 2017
A very heavy, dark rose/patchouli perfume, a little too rough-edged for me, and not really all that interesting. Would work perfectly well on a man, in my opinion.

Classic Beauty
by Hope on May 17, 2017
Aptly named, I would imagination this to be something Yvonne De Carlo, Hedy Lamarr, Ingrid Bergman, and Grace Kelly would have worn. They were classic beauties, and if this perfume were a person, it would be one of them.

Had to try
by Amanda on Mar 14, 2017
The main notes I get are rose, incense and musk. Its very strong and will last 24 hours. I would only wear this on a special occasion because of the price, but I'd wear it every winter day if I had the money.

Typical Old Lady Scent
by Kayce on Dec 12, 2016
Yuck. I read a small review of this in an upscale magazine, and was so excited to try it because I love rose and patchouli. I typically make my own scents with essential oils. I could smell this before I got it completely out of the plastic packaging. It's awful. It smells like every other old lady perfume--I wanted so badly for this to be my new signature scent. It isn't dark or sexy or unusual. It smells old and cheap.

Portrait of a Lady
by Amber on Jul 2, 2016
This perfume is amazing. This is a masterpiece. It has the best rose mixed with an incense note. It lasts an incredible amount of time and is very noticible.

I want to get married in this, I want to sweat this out of my pores, worth every penny and its a lot of pennies.

Claws
by Rose on Jan 11, 2016
There's a soapy feel to PoaL. The soapiness is hot soap though, glowing fresh from the shower, but at the same time, this perfume is decidedly Gothic. If Cathy from Wuthering Heights had a smell this would be it - rain soaked, wind torn, darkly earthy, wild roses, lips stained from wild blackberries. I love it! It's the only perfume I know where patchouli has been paired to perfection, it's a heavily intense note requiring serious partners
PoaL seems to call for a proper occasion such as a fancy dress ball in a crumbling Venetian Palace. It's quite a ferocious perfume really, men can most definitely wear it too, it has claws

This is a very sexy, dark scent. Could be worn by anyone, man or woman, who has a fine balance of masculine and feminine attributes. Lots of incense!

Nice and Elegant.
by Adrienne on May 30, 2014
This perfum starts as a nice rose and ends on a spicy patchouli. I put it on as soon as I received it and lasted all night, I could not stop smelling my wrist.

Just as anticipated

Quality fragrance. Unisex but of course by virtue of its name, it's not too manly. It's incense with rose hints. Sexy
