Play Black by Comme des Garcons for women and men

I am loving black pepper as a note in perfumes, and I've always liked tea notes, too.
My brother and I have been studying notes, and essential oils, perfumery, etc., and we learned that "Birch" has a wintergreen scent. I don't think that's what's going on here. "Birch tar," on the other hand, is said to smell like a campfire. While I don't smell a campfire, particularly, it does go along with the "black" theme of this perfume. Incense is listed as a note here, too, and that would harmonize well with the "campfire" birch.
I do, disappointingly, smell lavender. I'm hoping and guessing that that's just the pepper and thyme (etc.) playing off of each other.
It might be a bit of a "weird" scent, but I do like and recommend it.
