Lacoste Elegance by Lacoste for men

I ordered this sample for my boyfriend to try based on the reviews. He was actually not a fan, but I was ! I thought this had a fruity air to it when first sprayed, but the dry down is absolutely wonderful. You can definitely smell the chocolate note, and it really makes this fragrance quite unique. It is very earthy, and I could see this as almost being unisex.

Elegance is an oriental-fougere fragrance for men. The opening notes are peppermint, thyme, and juniper. Then the fragrance continues blending the heart notes of spicy accords of nutmeg, cardamom, black pepper, and raspberry. Base notes bring waves and wafts of chocolate, amber, musk, and sandalwood, which is pretty light here. Pretty smooth, really!

This perfume is an interesting scent for Lacoste, which I always think of as normally being known for extremely reliable sports clothing and rather inexpensive warm/hot weather fragrances for Spring/Summer. I think this is Lacoste's only offering from the world of 'gourmand' and works well for cool/cold weather! It's almost an odd blending of extremely dry chocolate and cold, fresh spices with a sour mandarin note underneath it all toning down the chocolate a smidgen. To me, it's sensual, super original, dark, cold, but warm, and fresh and spicy as well...very hard to explain!

This is, most likely, for the man who has everything else in his collection and can now add something totally different, unique, and interesting! I did hear something about possible discontinuation, so best to try it now as opposed to later...worth a look/test!

Upon reading about this having a chocolate note in it, I thought I'de try it out. It smells very nice. I like it. It's smells like chocolate/mint with some spice. When I first tried it, it was hard to pick out those notes until trying it out more a few times. "Seduction in Black" by Antonio Banderas smells like chocolate/mint at first,but it doesn't have any chocolate or mint notes in it. Thats' what I call a "olfactory illusion". The dry down on "Elegance" smells just a little like spice. This frag. has excellent longevity. I tried it on before going to bed and it was still on my skin the next morning. I don't think I want a bottle of this for now,but I may buy a larger sampler atomizer of this in the future. If you like "Seduction in Black" then you'll probably like this one even better. I know I do.
