If I could have have the opening during the drydown.... sold... I spend more time with the drydown though and unfortunate that the opening doesnt stick around. Nice fragrance but not gonna make my regular rotation.
Great opening, poor drydown

As mentioned already, this fragrance smells great after the first spray. It shares some notes with Givenchy Play which is a great fragrance. I get a spicy/woodsy note at first which I love, but then it dries down to a "soapy" smell. Smells very generic after the first initial impression. It has good longevity though as is a nice fragrance overall. Re-applying fixes the "soapy" smell. Keep a small bottle on hand.

I like it ok, but it's not my favorite.

The opening on this one is truly amazing. It has the brightest notes, that are nearly aquatic and airy at the same time. If this fragrance retained this essence, then I honestly believe it would be a legendary staple in the Men's fragrance world.
However, upon the drydown, Gentlemen Only pulls a Mission Impossible, and turns from this beautiful neo-aquatic into the bold and musky essence of Boss Number One. Like—exactly the same suite. It goes from one extreme and directly into the next.
I think has to do with the patchouli, since that's the main source of Boss Number One's presence. If only they'd replace that note with Ambergris, I think they could fix that issue entirely. However, Boss Number One is very niche, and not a crowd pleaser for people who are looking for their clean, stylish, neo aquatic woods scent.
You're really going to have to have a taste for both worlds to enjoy this one. If that's not you, then you're probably going to be real disappointed in Gentlemen Only.

I found this a safe buy. It's a scent that you've smelled before...nothing special. I could barely smell this after about 4 hours.

A well-blended safe and modern scent that has a really nice drydown. Just be patient and bypass the confusing top-notes.

Got the sample. Don't think I'll buy the bottle. Prefer Play or Pi by Givenchy. Much nicer scents.

This was a so so cologne. I liked the original scent but after a little while I couldn't stand it. It did smell nice, clean, and fresh at the beginning. There was a tiny scent after a while that was similar to their cologne Pi which I don't like either.
