Five O'Clock Au Gingembre by Serge Lutens for women and men

While I enjoyed this scent (but only spray once!), I feel as if this is strictly an occasional kind of perfume. It's so spicy and warm and I can imagine wearing this on a winter holiday. The dry down is absolutely lovely if you enjoy woodsy smells.

Intriguing, alluring, embracing, radiant, exotic, effervescent and slightly erotic. It's like Shalimar heavy on the woods with a touch of Youth Dew and Beautiful peeking through. I would classify it as an Oriental but it has chypre qualities with a gourmand twist. Only slighlty sweet, oh so spicy and warm, rich, indulgent and completely satisfying! If you like real perfume with much to say, this one speaks! Not heady or overly done. I would enjoy smelling this on a man as much as on myself. Probably best suited for autumn and winter; however, I could see this as a bedtime scent year round. Simply perfect. If you like a little sugar and spice and woods done so nice[ly], do try!

I like this fragrance. It's sweet. What I don't like about this fragrance is that it's not what I expected and a little too feminine for me.? I can't pick out the ginger in this, and it seems like it's a little floral, but there's no floral notes in this. In the very beginning, it's stronger and more masculine but in the course of the dry down it turns more feminine and even sweeter. I don't think I recommend this one to other guys, at least with body or skin chemistries like mine. I may end up giving the sample of this one away. :(
