Thank goodness--this Penhaligon was better!
by katelyn on Apr 16, 2017
This was the 3rd Penhaligon sample that I purchased. Because the first two were such a bad fit for me, I almost didn't even try this one. I'm glad I did, though, because it was very different. It's unique in a good way--it's definitely earned its "niche" reputation. I'm not sure that I would wear this often, but it is an interesting fragrance.

Vintage Floral
by Kim on Sep 17, 2016
This scent definitely has that Vintage feel. To me it actually opens quite powdery (?) but then progresses to very sweet. The Heliotrope is stunning but unfortunately it fades too quickly for my liking and at this point to scent becomes linear and all the 'power' is gone. I'm left with a rather sour yet musky resinous type smell for the next 4 hours or so :( The beginning of Cornubia (the part I enjoy the best) reminds me strongly of the heart of Esprit D'Oscar - which I adore. I will pass on the Cornubia and stick with my Oscar :) Pretty much the same thing to my nose without the sourness or the expense.

Nice

Nice floriental. This is super strong so apply lightly. You can definitely tell it's a vintage perfume but its so nicely layered and heavy that its still very relevant. Its definitely worth a try.

Sweet orange blossom
by lls on Jun 10, 2016
Cornubia is a sweet, slightly heavy, orange blossom-dominant oriental with good longevity. I may just be suggestible, but there does seem to be something like corn, or maybe cornbread, in the base. It's not my favorite orange blossom (that may be Penhaligon's Orange Blossom), but it's well worth trying.

Classic
by Nazia on May 2, 2016
Sweet, powdery orange blossom with a hint of bitterness. Classic fragrance, it has a vintage feel. The heliotrope must be making it powdery - it's interesting, a powdery amber fragrance. It is sweet, but not doughy sweet like many sweet amber fragrances. I like it, for it's old time feel.

A floral oriental
by Alicia on Mar 9, 2016
A floral oriental of rare strength and longevity compared to the other feminine perfumes from this brand. The main notes are heliotrope and vanilla; the former gives it plenty of powderiness while the latter lends a delicate sweetness. In my opinion it is a very appropriate fragrance for the colder seasons of the year.

Not what I exected....
by Jessica on Dec 24, 2015
I thought this was going to be a gentle air like perfume, but no. Its quite strong and stays strong for an hr or so. The initial scent is almost like an ashy powder scent, then the base notes are smoother

Fresh summer scent
by Brenda on Mar 24, 2015
A touch of powdery orange, then lush florals mixed with amber and woods. Darn. I love this one and would love a full bottle.
