Bvlgari BLV II by Bvlgari for women

I'm a little disappointed that I can't detect any note other than the violet. I smell a little bit of "something else" in the background, but it is impossible to say exactly what (Iris, I'm guessing, as it isn't exactly powdery, but "fuzzy," for lack of a better description).
Whatever it is, it takes a definite back seat to the violet, and I do not mean it in a bad way, as I really love their smell.
I'd've loved to be able to smell the anise, though.

I got a big bottle of this at a low price, after reading some positive and intriguing reviews. I rarely buy full sized bottles, but I couldn't find a sample of this so I took a chance. I like unique scents, and this one definitely is. It's goes on subtle but it hangs around impressively long and evolves. When I first sprayed it I thought it was nice but a little mundane, but after a few minutes it changed into something with more depth than expected. It smells feminine but not sweet or floral, which is what I like about it. It is subtle enough for casual or professional use and sophisticated enough for evening use. This was a pleasant surprise. Pretty bottle too.
