Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca by Guerlain for women and men

I don't often like perfumes... To my nose they often seem cloying, powdery, strident, boring, synthetic or a thousand other negatives. But there a few I like, and this one is one of my favorites. Truly fresh, unusual, never boring, like walking in a field of herbs after the rain... A perfect summer fragrance!

I rarely like any perfumes... I usually find them too powdery, too sweet, too synthetic, too flowery, too sweet, too alcohol-y, too spicy, etc. But Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca is perfect. The greenest of all the scents I tried, it's truly fresh without being monochromatic, and could be worn by a man as well as a woman. A refreshingly unique scent.

This is definitely a green, herbal scent with an aquatic, white floral dry-down. If someone were to walk past me wearing it, I'd think they'd spent the whole day watering hundreds of beautiful flowers in a greenhouse. The mint is prominent in the first half-hour of wear, along with what I think is the clover note. It doesn't last very long on the skin, but since it's an eau de toilette and not a perfume, that's to be expected. I could see this being a particularly refreshing on a hot and humid summer day. I can also see how this would work for both women and men; it's is not overtly feminine or masculine. Though it's a nice scent - and my first Guerlain - something about the combination of everything doesn't wear on me the way I like a scent to. I prefer something warmer and a little more animalistic.
