Excellent

Sweet and enticing, wrapped in a veil of leather. Pure Wood is my favorite A*Men, but this is my second runner up. Very masculine, mysterious and classy.

Angel Men Wrapped in Leather
by Brian on Dec 7, 2015
This one does remind me of Angel Men wrapped in leather. I'm not a huge fan of the leather note in this one. I have tried Amen and several flankers including Pure Havane, Pure Malt, Ultra Zest, and Pure Energy, and Pure Leather may be my least favorite of the bunch. Pure Havane would likely be my favorite.

Yep, leather
by Colin on Mar 30, 2015
This fragrance is exactly what is says - pure leather. Unfortunately, I also get too much of a gasoline vibe which I hate in colognes.
Sometimes I also get a bit of tar in the opening and as the fragrance dries down I get some chocolate coffee notes. Sometimes it can even seem a bit sweet.
Longevity and sillage seem average. This cologne just isn't for me.

Nice "Leather" fragrance.
by Jeffrey on Nov 30, 2014
I thought I would give this a try after reading some of the positive reviews on this. I think it's almost interesting that the perfumers that make the whole line of Thierry Mugler fragrances make the other fragrances with the original A*Men as a base with the only exception is they remove the tar note and replace it by some other note(s). This fragrance is sweet but not too much. I can detect the leather note which replaces the original A*Men tar note which smells nice, not a cheap leather smell either. The leather note blends nicely with the other notes which make this fragrance smell classy. This one is worth trying out. It's also a nice fragrance to be worn in Fall and Winter.

A*Men Pure Leather
by JW on Oct 4, 2014
The name of this fragrances succinctly describes it. It opens with a light tar and mint note that quickly shifts into a sweet cedary leather. This leather stays present after the drydown and gradually elicits notes of suede, vanilla, coffee, and tonka bean. Very light whiffs of caramel/chocolate mix with musk. It's a pure leathery gourmand scent, masculine yet pleasant. The longevity is moderate and the sillage is dense and tight. Recommended for a workout or night scent.

An Overlooked Treasure
by Sean on Jul 25, 2014
As the title suggests, this is a masterpiece that is often overlooked by the cologne connoisseur community. I think the reason for this is because of its strong tar note in the beginning, but that quickly fades into a magnificent leathery and chocolate flavor with hints of booze. Please try this one out, it is an underrated goody by Thierry Mugler.

Devine!
by Heather on Mar 8, 2014
I must now add another review after wearing this several more times:
A smoother version of A*Men off the top, A*Men Pure Leather offers a sensual leather- and patchouli-infused sweet fragrance that is masculine and inviting. Reach for this instead of A*Men when you feel less daring and do not wish to saturate the air around you...can be overwhelming for others (and yourself.)
While the leather may be more appealing than the tar in the original, it does seem to come across synthetic, while the tar offers an earthy dynamic to A*Men. A*Men Pure Leather is absolutely gorgeous, though, and I love wearing this fragrance anywhere, anytime. It wafts up unexpectedly throughout the day - very very nice!!

Rich!
by Heather on Jan 11, 2014
This scent to me doesn't really seem like Angel-Man. The tar is not present here. It really does smell like leather - sort of like brand new gloves or something on the inside - you can smell that smell on yours hands when you take them off the first time. I like the fact that it's very unique and different! I just love Thierry Mugler frags, and this one beats them all (well, except the Womanity frags!)
So, this rendition is more heavy, dense, and bolder than the orig (the chocolate notes are so obvious in the orig.) This leather version has a slight gasoline note, which is truly amazing and works well with the chocolate here! This is a rich formula that I love to wear!!
