It has a powder and clean scent. My skin adapts to it, it does seem to last, but it is on the lighter side.
Not for me

Smells like a mature woman's bathroom. The powder notes really turned me off.
Pretty and Clean
by Hope on May 17, 2017
I wore this for a few years, back in the day, and it always made me feel good. Its main accords are musky, floral, white floral, and fresh spicy, all of which my nose detects. It's a bit synthetic for my taste now, and I've read reviews in which some say it doesn't last on their skin. This wasn't a problem for me, because I used to be heavy-handed with my perfume. It might deserve 3 stars, but I rate fragrances according to how I personally feel about them and not as a professional perfumista.
This is one of the freshest smelling scents one could possibly find. It does smell a bit soapy, but there's nothing wrong with smelling clean every now and again. Amazing Grace would be nice to have on hand if a person wakes up late with no time for a shower. I'd like to purchase a bottle some time, if only for the sweet memories.
the beach in a bottle
by Stephanie on Dec 16, 2016
This smells like the beach to me - it's lovely. Nice fresh clean scent. I have Pure Grace as well, and I prefer that just because it's a little more sophisticated. I have been contemplating selling this one only because the two are so similar and I like to keep my collection on the small side, but I find myself reluctant to part with it because they are both very nice and unique. Maybe the solution is to give it to my daughter so I can swipe some from time to time....

It's so gentle and vague that I need to apply a lot just to get an idea of this perfume. Even then, it's barely there. Nobody will know you are wearing any perfume, even you.
I've wanted to try it ...
by gracie on May 26, 2016
I wanted to try it mostly because my name is Grace and so many people have claimed to just love it. It's easy to see why. It's an easy fragrance to wear. It doesn't overpower or confuse your nose. It's clean and light. I hear "you smell good" a lot when I wear it.
No thank you

This smells cheap and plastcky. I really wanted to like this because its pretty popular.
by Kristena on Jan 11, 2016
Descript implies clean, but was a bit powdery for me. My sis in law liked it. In
reading the bathroom air freshener review, I agree. That's what it reminds me of.of.

A feminine scent, but smells a tad cheap!
Smells so clean.

This perfume is perfect for the summer and fall months. It smells so clean and you feel invigorating wearing this at least I do. I wish the smell lasted longer.
my all-time favorite!
by Lisa on Feb 28, 2015
This is my maintstay fragrance and the one to which I always return. It's difficult to describe, but if you want to smell fresh, clean, with hints of florals, and only a smidge of musk to anchor the scents, this is for you. It's ageless and a new classic. I think that this is what Joy wishes it could be. This will not overpower you or anyone around you. You won't be that over-the-top fragrance wearer in your work environment - you'll be the one that will have many people say to you, "you smell soooo good!' No one will say, "your perfume smells so good!" because Amazing Grace will make YOU smell good! Get the eau de parfum version, not the spray fragrance. The spray fragrance smells too alcohol-y and shrill. The EDP is the best and even far better than the perfume version. The body emulsion, bath gel/shampoo, and the souffle cream are all wonderful! The body emulsion and souffle cream are incredibly emollient without be greasy or heavy. Love this fragrance!

This lasts a really long time for such a gentle, fresh scent. Very ladylike, indeed.
by PerfumeLover on Nov 14, 2014
I was given this as a gift. This is not a perfume to me. I would never wear it on my body. I use it in the bathroom as an air freshener after someone uses it. The smell is decent as an air freshener, but I don't really think of this as the quality of a perfume.
if you think pure grace is not for you..
by sheaffer on Oct 29, 2014
I love this perfume. I didnt at first. It has grown on me though. I am crazy about soap and water clean smells so I naturally gravitated towards pure grace. It did not work with my body chemistry and i was devastated when it turned sour and cheap on me with a slight hint of cat pee. I had ordered some skin care products from philosophy and received a sample of amazing grace in lotion form. i never considered the scent for myself because i assumed it would be too musky and flowery on me. I was wrong. when mixed with my chemistry it smelled light and fresh, what i had been hoping to achieve when i purchased pure grace. to those women who love light clean scents, but can never seem to have them work, give this a try. it has a little musk in it which allows for the notes to mix with your chemistry better. a new fave! i like to layer the scent starting in the shower with the body gel, then onto the lotion and a few spritzes of the perfume.
Not my type of fragrance but...
by Carrie on May 22, 2014
This has staying power. It's not a bad scent but I am more of a fruity scent type person and thus this isn't for me. However, it lasts ALL day which is a plus if you like the fragrance
It is ok.
by Adrienne on May 20, 2014
I like it it has a fresh scent, but I will not buy it.

Philosophy's Amazing Grace is just that - graciously 'amazing'!
The scent is very simple and well balanced! It smells very clean and yet the florals are present making the perfume extremely feminine! I think it's just perfect for day AND night. I really like this one, because it is soft, light, and fresh - not heavy at all. It would probably be a good 'work' frag.
Now, I do want to add one thing - I don't really think 'Grace' belongs at the end of the name, or maybe even in it. Grace sounds too elegant, and this scent really isn't an elegant one for me - it's more simple, uncluttered, fresh-clean-laundry like. Maybe a good name would be just 'Amazement'!
