Not great but I like it

Poor performance for a spicy scent. Pass on this.

A really nice scent overall, however it suffers the same fate as many other JV fragrances, in that it doesn't last. Luckily you can find it cheap enough that applying throughout the day isn't a huge deal.

Aromatic, spicy and sweet. Works best for a daytime scent.
The Best Of Varvatos

A very nice, classy scent. As with all Varvatos fragrances, longevity is poor.
my signature fragrance

I love this fragrance. The fir is my favorite note in this fragrance. The tobacco and suede are such a great blend and work well together. Love the slight hint of spice. This fragrance isnt loud or obnoxious and projects well. Lasts about 7 hours and becomes a skin scent but by that time im in and relaxing. My girlfriend's favorite.

Varvatos Vintage is a very nice fragrance, especially for the fall and winter. The unusual opening of rhubarb and quince (something like a fragrant pear) fruit is outstanding. Soon you get cinnamon and lavender and as the base comes into play, it gets much heavier and almost syrupy with tobacco, suede leather, tonka bean, balsam and woody notes. Overall it is very smooth and well blended. A bit similar to Burberry London, but the rhubard and quince substituted for the mimosa.
Great Modern Masculine Scent
by Brian on Nov 13, 2015
The notes voted on above make sense except maybe fennel could be a little higher on the list. The main thing that strikes me about this fragrance is how smooth it is. Just an incredibly well blended scent. I get acceptable performance, and, given the lower price, I have no qualms about reapplying as needed. I also think the bottle looks cool, and the sprayer is very solid. This has become a "love" fragrance for me.
Just wish it lasted

This smells amazing some leather tobacco, and sweetness. The only downfall like all of varvatos fragrances that I have tried is longevity. It's such a dark masculine fragrance that I'm surprised every time I put it on how quickly it disappears. 4 hours max for me.
Vintage by John Varvatos

An excellent, complex fragrance that is very subtle and true to its name. The initial opening is sweet, fruity, and lightly floral. Hints of jasmine and lavender shift between juniper, vanilla, and patchouli. The scent finds its root in rich and warm tobacco and a luxurious leathery suede. A classic, vintage fragrance - perfect for winter.
Moderate sillage and great longevity.
Sweet,fruity,aromatic and slightly spicy.
by Jeffrey on Mar 24, 2014
This is another frag. that I wanted to sample cause of what I read about in the notes it contains. It's highly complex like "Ferre" is because of the different types of notes that are in it. It's a combination of being sweet, aromatic, slightly fruity(from Quince),and just a little spicy. I don't think this one is for me right now but I recommend to at least try a sample first. Who knows, this may surpass "Aventus" by Creed, in it's scent, etc. which I have yet to try.
