Sweet and Dark
by Tristan on Feb 16, 2017
This is a sweet and dark fragrance, but can be overpowering to some.
Oh my god
by Sunny Side on Jan 20, 2017
This scent is just awesome. I heard of it because I had Ed Hardy's Villain, which I wore to prom. Honestly they are both so awesome and similar. The One is just more mature, nonlinear, and complex (and expensive) I would say. It is pretty weak like everyone says but it is so good I can't give it below 5 stars.
Nice fragrance with performance issue
by Bhaskar on Dec 15, 2016
this is nice fragrance, but as mentioned has many performance issues
by Dana on Sep 6, 2016
As noted by many others, this is a fantastic scent, but the performance is not great. Not as poor for me as some of the other reviews I've read, but does tend to fade fast. If you're wearing this, plan to carry a decant for a mid-day re-spray.
by Jarrod on Jun 9, 2016
Truely one of the best deep masculine ever made, deep woody notes as well as sweet Amber will have the ladies going wild, only let down is the average longevity, 3 plus sprays or it's a skin scent. 5/5 scent 2/5 performance
Good, but not great
by Nathan on May 20, 2016
The smell is good, but not great. Its got a "nice guy" smell. Sweet and powdery. Projection is average. Longevity is poor.
Smells like aftershave lotion
by Gregory on Jan 15, 2016
Smells like aftershave lotion. Actually reminds me of the most famous low-cost aftershave lotion on the market.

A very sweet and spicy scent that sits close to the skin but lasts for me for a long time. This fits perfectly in my small collection, sometime I just want to be able to smell nice but without letting the whole room know. You really can't over apply with this one I go heavy on this one (about 4-6 sprays). A truly amazing scent, looking to try the intense version when it is available on the market in the US.
Would be great if it lasted longer
by Sean on Nov 6, 2015
This is a nice fragrance for the cooler months. It reminds me a bit of YSL La Nuit, but without the harsh and heavy dose of cardamom. This doesn't last on your skin too long though.
Smells pretty good, but the longevity is terrible
by Sean on Oct 24, 2015
It's woody aromatic type smell. This is good for the fall, but it doesn't last very long for most people.
by Earnest on Oct 21, 2015
This fragrance gets GREAT reviews because it does smell great (eg: spicy, musky, leather). I actually love the scent but it last only last 2-3 hours for me. Its a little too spicy for the summer but lacks performance in the winter. I drenched myself with SIX SPRAYS (3 skin, 3 clothes) during a cool day the help with performance . I'm looking forward to trying the INTENSE version of the THE ONE!
Great scent, poor performance
by D on Sep 14, 2015
Let me just throw another review onto the pile of "Smells amazing, doesn't last." It's a fantastic scent, but it lasts maybe two hours on my skin, and sticks close to the skin the entire time.
Smells great but...
by shaun on Jun 16, 2015
fantastic sweet woody smell but only gets 4 stars as it doesn't last or project well.
by Zach on Apr 24, 2015
This is a nice smelling scent for an older, sophisticated man. It was a little bit too spicy for me, but over all still a great smelling scent for the transition months.
The One you need to try first
by Colin on Apr 18, 2015
I was looking forward to trying this aft reading rave reviews. I was pretty much underwhelmed.
The main issue I have with The One is the longevity. It lasted less than an hour on my skin. I did enjoy the scent for the first thirty minutes or so but after that it was pretty much gone.
I'm glad I tried this before I bought a bottle.

I didn't find this one unique at all :|
Only rivaled by YSL La Nuit de l`Homme, but I prefer The One
by D.W. on Jan 17, 2015
Similar smells between the two, and you look at La Nuit de l`Homme, you'll understand why it is so popular. I purchased both at the same time and ran out of The One first.
Now, granted, part of this IS because both the longevity and projection are, to be painfully honest, disappointingly below average. In spite of this I've never smelled a sexier, more sensual, manlier cologne, and everyone who smells it on me, or I show it off too, agrees with me. The sillage is as nice as any other cologne, with the tobacco hits hard right away, like walking into a pipe shop full of the most sophisticated and charming gentlemen ever to juggle 10 "10 out of 10" girlfriends at once. And the coriander, basil, cardamom, and ginger is them laughing, inviting you to join in their exploits.
While I've always found the YSL to have an odd sweetness in it that doesn't quite belong, everything in this frag. fits together like a spontaneous but seemingly impossibly choreographed ninja fight that ends with both men conceding to each others greatness, and then going and grabbing a Talisker and fine cigar together, leaving their Hattori Hanzō swords as tips to the bartender, for they know that they will never face a finer opponent.
But like I said, while this concoction is expertly mixed, I desperately wish that it came in a eau de parfum, instead of just a toilette. You will find yourself wanting to reapply and pump liberally to keep it on your skin and make sure that the others around you can bask in what is the Marsellus Wallace's briefcase of scents. In other words, unlike lasting the entire movie like Django, the scent gets cut short like Vincent Vega coming out of Butch Coolidge's bathroom and getting blasted by his own gun.
You can't go wrong with either scent, but if you truly want the "BMF" wallet of the two, despite the extra upkeep, you take the Jules that is Dolce & Gabbana's The One For Men instead of the slightly-too-sweet to accomplish what you really want it to "Ringo" that is La Nuit de l`Homme.
Trust me when I say that just by looking at them I know that both The Wolf, while saving Jimmie Dimmick's marriage by making unlucky Marvin's body disappear as professionally as possible, and Mr. Blonde, cutting that poor cop's ear of in both the coolest and cruelest manner ever witnessed, were both wearing The One For Men, despite the concoction not being released until 14 and 16 years, respectively, after those acts were put to film. That is how good this cologne is.
Why the hell do you think Matthew McConaughey instantly became the greatest actor of our generation immediately after endorsing the product? The man won an Oscar. David "they stay the same age" Wooderson... Tripp "Failure to Launch" Ihavenolastname... The man was in Mud, True Detective, Oscar-worthy in Dallas Buyer's Club.
Well, I'm going to form the Dolce Buyer's Club right now - and you better join.
Smells Great....for a few Minutes
by Adam on Dec 22, 2014
Okay, so I may have gotten a bit hyperbolic in the title....but not by much! The scent is fantastic, without a doubt. I've seen it ranked in polls as a top 10/top 20 scent and, honestly, based upon scent alone I could see that. It has a smooth aroma to it that the ladies seem to enjoy. It isn't overbearing and would take an awful lot of sprays to overpower someone. My problem with it is the longevity. After about 30 minutes to an hour, the majority of the scent has vanished and you have to get in very close to smell it (it wears super close to the skin). To see positive results, you'd have to reapply throughout the day.
Smell it at your place if a female is on her way over, otherwise it won't help your game much. If you wear it on a date, it will smell great at the beginning and will be gone by the end (which, ideally, is when you want it to be doing the most work).
by Jeffrey on Nov 29, 2014
This fragrance smells nice. It's aromatic not too sweet even though it has the "amber" note in it. I'm only giving this an "average" rating cause of it's sillage which is very weak (sits next to the skin). I'm not sure about what the longevity of it is because I just applied it with that vial applicator, but my guess is half hour at the most, but I could be wrong. It's a nice fragrance and worth checking it out to sample first. I think a person could get away with wearing this on Summer nights or either day and night in the Spring, Autumn and Winter.

This is no doubt an excellence fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana, I can't see anyone disagreeing with that statement. However, it does have projection and longevity issues and that is why I just can't give it a perfect 5 stars. You can spray generously, 3-6 sprays would not be over doing it. Other than the issues mentioned, this is a very beautiful scent. If I was just rating it on scent alone......5 stars easily!
by Heather on Mar 3, 2014
The One smells very rich and masculine. As a matter of face, I read somewhere that it smells too much so, that it should be classified as a 'man oil' instead of a perfume. Funny stuff, but probably true!
It smells like a wealthy gentleman who knows how to classily impress a woman! This one is addictive! You just can't get enough of the smell! It's not a loud frag, and sits close to the skin. That's fine with this one.
The bottle is clean and elegant - almost a '50 or '60's design. Pretty NEAT!
by Jeremie on Nov 18, 2013
I was a little disapointed in the one, it smells very strong and has a weird old people smell that doesnt go well with my skin chemistry.
