To me, not "black"
by Shane on Nov 29, 2016
Please don't be confused by the grade of three stars. This is a very nice smell. However, there is nothing special about it. There are several scents that smell similar. It is a clean, safe scent.
I usually really like "black" scents, but I wouldn't call this black at all. It is very light, almost soapy. The only somewhat dark note came at about 10 minutes in. I could smell a weedy, plant type note, but couldn't put my finger on it. After going back to this page I realized it was the sage. However, the sage only lasted about 30 minutes on me.
Overall a nice, fairly generic scent.

I liked this fragrance reasonably well. However there are some others I still like better. Nevertheless, not a bad choice.
Great Smell... Not strong though!

It smells AMAZING! The notes are complex and sensual. The down side is that it doesn't last very long at all!

Seductive, fresh and unique. Love this.

This is a very cool and mysterious scent. The notes are very clean and well-balanced, nothing too strongly seems to overpower the next. The blend is very sweet and smooth.
The nature of this scent is very enigmatic, meaning hard to explain or understand—which makes Polo Black a really great cologne if you not only want to catch attention—but leave people wondering.
Polo Black is a very universal scent thanks to its dark undertones, which means that it can probably be worn anywhere (from casual, to business, to a formal event). This versatility makes Polo Black really prime for those who love style, yet are also very particular about it.
You almost can't go wrong with this scent, and it's sure to make a great impression wherever you go.

I got this for my man and it is a great manly smelling cologne not overpowering. I will get it in a larger size for him it is a keeper.
One of Polo's best

Very versatile fragrance. This is best worn in the fall and winter. It is probably too strong to wear in the summer.

I find Polo Black to be a very linear scent. Not that that is a bad thing. It's the same on me from the first spray throughout the dry down. I get mango, sandalwood, citrus and patchouli.
On my skin, Polo Black is long lasting and projects well.

scent includes a mixture of iced mango, spanish sage, patchouli noir, sandalwood, and tonka bean

I never hear this mentioned in the same breaths as other colognes said to be at the top of the list and, I honestly don't see why. I absolutley love it! I can't stop smelling myself when I wear it. It is super versatile and girls seem to love it! Ask a girl what her favorite cologne is, if she answers anything other than this, let her smell you, she'll have a new favorite cologne. It's cool, crisp, and a bit sweet (I suspect that is the mango) but still manly. More for the younger generations than your grandfather though.
Not dark at all.

It smells like melons. Cantaloupe and honeydew. Nothing special about it. Also it smells very familiar to me. I think I know a bunch of guys who wear this.
The best from RL

The best perfume of 'Ralph Lauren', no doubt. A delicious aroma. Striking, elegant, pleasant; cold, sensual, ripe mango. Moderate range. Suitable longevity. Can be used during the day, evening and night: it is versatile.
Hard to nail down

This is good everyday scent and a great value nothing striking or memorable. Mild projection.
