Wonderful Oud. Probably better for colder months

M7 Oud Absolu by Yves Saint Laurent - exceptional! Close yet long lasting scent. Elegant and confident. Will definitely buy when fall nears. Thanks to My Perfume Samples for an inexpensive way to try this scent out!

Strong & powerful

This was a very strong, almost overpowering scent. It's taking me quite a while to get used to this, and I'm finding that it's not for me. I feel that it's more for the older, more sophisticated gentleman.

Oud Absolu opens with mandarin! I can even detect some rosemary of the original M7! Patchouli and oud give some robustness! Although, called Oud Absolu, oud is not prominent here. It is, I guess Westernized, yet has some depth and full body! The strong base resins are the difference from the original. M7 OA is drier and sticky sweet at the same time!
This is a new version of the old beast! I think it is more easy to wear. Y es, it lost some of its old charm, but the essence is here!!
Sweet & dirty

I was looking forward to this one based off reviews of the original M7 and comparisons. I'm happy I tried it to kill the curiosity but I really am not a fan. I give credit to the originality but to me it is sweet flowers and dirt (literal soil).
This smells very close to "M7"

I just tried this side by side with the "M7" by Yves Saint Laurent and I can't tell any difference in both of them. This one seems to be more earthy than M7. But otherwise the scent is nice. It's sweet and sort of balsamic and a little woody. A nice fragrance for Fall/Winter in the evening.
