Dark earthy vetiver
by Ruebennase on Feb 20, 2017
It's a well constructed fragrance and an interesting take on vetiver, I have to admit. It's just that I despise vetiver so much that I couldn't give this a good rating. This was basically my last attempt to like a vetiver fragrance (after sampling vetivers from Guerlain, Givenchy, Creed, and Dior). I give up. Vetiver lovers might find this fantastic, though! Definitely not a safe blind buy if you don't know if you like vetiver or not. So get a sample here before you buy a full bottle!
Dark and mysterious

Man, this stuff takes me into a different world. For any Stranger Things fans reading this, I imagine this is what the tree which leads to the upside down smells like. Sharp, woody, green, earthy. Uber masculine. Not a casual fragrance by any means. Very affordable as well.
Pleasant all-around while still being distinguishing

I have to credit this scent for introducing me to the scent of Vetiver, and I must admit the mild yet musty aroma from this type of grass indeed has a inky accord that works fantastically for providing an aura of classiness. The projection here is very versatile, suitable for formal or casual; dark and mysterious or bookish and subdued. I consider it to be unisex as well, as I perceive on feminine skin the initial muskiness (once it dries down) takes on a powdery-greenness without coming off as genderbendy whatsoever. I recommend this one highly.

I really liked this cologne. It has a masculine scent. There is almost a kind of smoky smell at first but a woodsy scent overall.

This is a perfect wood scent, I need to get a larger size for this one!

I have to admit it's not for everyone, but personally I absolutely love it. The opening is a bit harsh but it quickly fades into a very clean yet woody, grassy and earthy smell
Strong aromatic wood scent.

I was reading from other forums about people wearing this and liking it. I was sort of skeptical about getting a sample to try but I ordered a decant anyway. This is a strong fragrance but not the type of strong like "Drakkar Noir" and a few others from the 80's. This just has a strong aromatic woody scent. It's pleasing enough. It has, I guess good projection.? I know it has excellent longevity. I could still smell it on my skin hours later even putting a little dab of it on. I like most of the fragrances by Lalique which makes them nice smelling, well blended and long lasting.
If you like strong, woody and aromatic fragrances give this a try and I'm sure you won't be dissappointed. I don't know if this is for me, but I'm sure it can be for others. :)
Love this cologne

I really like this cologne. The best way I can describe it is manly. I know smell is objective, but I really disagree with the negative reviews on here. I know the smell of diesel and axe, and this is not like either at all. It dont think it is too overwhelming, unless you would put way too much on. It is kinda earthy, but I wouldn't say earthy in a green way. I completely recommend it, as long as you are manly enough for it (not saying that as a challenge, it just wouldn't be right if the wrong kinda guy wore this, it would make it seem like they are trying to over compensate). But like I said, smell is objective, so reviews don't matter too much unless everyone agrees, your best bet is to test it yourself (which is probablely why you are here in the first place.
Please make it stop

Dreadful. I love vetiver, but this just smells like diesel fuel. Tyrannical in the way it wrestles your nose into a death grip. Reminds me of guys who douse themselves in Axe.
Lalique Encre Noire

The immediate scent that springs from this fragrance is a strong, prominent green and smoky vetiver. Underlying notes of vanilla devoid of sweetness, an earthy moss, and a bitter inkiness. Overall, the green and smoky vetiver dominates the essence and doesn't let up after the drydown and initial sharp peaks fade.
The longevity is adequate and the sillance is substantial, almost to ill effect.
not worth the price...

Well, this one sounded interesting so I went ahead and tried it out, wasn't too pleased... Didn't really feel the depth and how amazing it was supposed to be but hey I guess it works for some people!
