  1. earthy and elegant

by Rose on Jan 11, 2016

Beautiful, sensuous, scenty cedar. I've grown to love this perfume. Worn on a rainy day in mid summer, as today, it's like a warm companion - relaxed and cosy.

I know of no other perfume that blends so well with my skin, it's especially nice when it's been worn all day and wafts up from a cotton shirt or soft wool jumper. The opening notes are boozy plum/woody and subtly spicy (not hard-edged spicy) the dry-down is warm cinnamon cedar

I do see the resemblance to Dolce Vita, though that's sunnier and more flirty in a way. Feminite du Bois is earthier, more one-dimensional and makes me feel comfortable in my skin, but it is undeniably sensuous (that slightly sweaty cedar, with plum and cinnamon gives it a naughty touch!)

    Cinnamon? Really?
  3. woody rose

by Zoe on Aug 8, 2015

Heavier spicier rose than most people are used to, this perfume is delicious. I wouldn't wear it on a hot day as it could become overpowering, but it is a winner on a cold winter's eve when you want something unusual but feminine.
  4. Different but don't like it

by Stephanie on Dec 4, 2014

I like unique fragrances, and I appreciate that this fragrance is not typical, and doesn't smell like everything else, but I don't like it. There's something kind of stale and unpleasant about it on me, but maybe on someone else it would be great.
  5. A Classic

by lls on Apr 21, 2014

A warm, slightly spicy, fruit-and-wood combination that was the beginning of a genre. The more sophisticated forerunner of Dior's Dolce Vita. Something in it turns slightly sour on me, and the longevity is only average (although better than Dolce Vita's).
