My very first grown up fragrance
by Denette on May 16, 2017
I still remember the first time I wore this fragrance...it was my very first dance in jr. high. I felt so mature while wearing this fragrance. Although this is my first memory, it is not what I think of when I sniff it now. It is a lovely floral aquatic fragrance that is fresh and clean smelling. I get blasts of crisp citruses (most lemon) and bright pineapple, that is rounded out by cool melon and aquatic florals. The longevity isn't great, but at the current prices, you can definitely afford to reapply.

Great sporty fresh scent. I just love wearing aquatic perfume when I'm running. Blissful. The men's perfume is divine also.
A Simple, Classic Aquatic

This is a good, classic aquatic perfume. Anyone who is interested in aquatics should try this one. I would consider it to be on the feminine side of unisex, not markedly feminine. A bit fruity. Most people will get a '90s vibe from this, as aquatics came out around that time. Cool Water was popular when it came out in '96 and can be familiar to people who were around then.

I wanted to like this

I really thought I'd be into this sort of aquatic fragrance, because I love waterlily notes(which are considered aquatic), but this one was just full on aquatic to the point that it smelled like "ocean" scented air freshener. It just reminds me of what my mother would spray in the bathroom, so I can't wear it. It definitely has melon

This is what I think of when I think aquatic. Its very fresh and airy. This did last a very long time. About 6 hours which surprised me.
Water, Water, Everywhere...

Despite the notes, I didn't really get "fruity" from this fragrance, but rather lots of rather "aquatic" notes. The opening was rather strong for me and a bit off-putting - quite heavy on the quince and calone - making it almost masculine. After a little while, it settled down and became a bit more floral - I noticed more water lily and lotus and a slight sweetness that must have been from the rose or lily. There was still a lingering aquatic background throughout the life of the fragrance. It had a decent sillage and excellent longevity.

I absolutely love the fresh scent of this fragrance. I've tried both classic versions of Cool Water for women and men, and they're both nice. From the fragrance notes, it appears to be a fruity and floral scent, but it's not. I used to wear it everyday for work and others would ask what I was wearing.
