I don't usually prefer vanilla in a men's cologne. This is no exception. A little too much for my taste, but if you like vanilla and woods on a man [I dooo likes woods] you'd probably like this.

For me, this is the definition of an average cologne.

This cologne smells great, more of a winter smell.

For those deciding over Boss or Black...
by Sunny Side on Feb 7, 2017
This is not so much a review but rather a comparison for those of you who are deciding between Hugo Boss Boss and Ferrari Black.
This is another scent I had a cheaper version of (Ferrari Black) and discovered the original one and had to compare. Overall this is more creamy than Black, and rather than the apple dominating the vanilla, Boss has it the other way around. Boss is also more heavy, lasts longer, and is less synthetic than Black. The dry downs are similar... If you want superior quality and name brand (in the cologne world), go for Boss. However, Black is VERY similar and if you don't really care about a bit of improvement and prefer cheaper prices (me) go for Ferrari Black.

This cologne smells great, more of a winter smell.
Wonderfull all around
by Deebs on Dec 25, 2016
This is a classic for a reason. It is light enough for spring and summer, but just heavy and sweet enough for fall & winter.
I love the sweet opening.
I hate the middle notes of wood and paper.
I love the sweet base notes once it dries down.
I really dislike the woody middle, but the opening and closing notes are so good that I can overlook the middle.
This is a great all-around, workhorse, daily scent.
Great for casual wear.

This is a spectacular fragrance. If Zeus were to make love to Eva Green, this would be the product of their union.

Boss Bottled has a clean stylish club scent vibe to it. The notes are rather vibrant, and do well to catch your attention (that is where I get the idea that this was designed as a club scent).
Additionally, Boss Bottled has this really distinct liquor note—that I can't identify from any of the notes listed—but definitely takes precedence as a dominating presence of the scent. It's not a bad thing, it's actually kind of intoxicating, and it provides this comforting effect, that comfortably invites you back to the scent days after.
Very universal, and hard to go wrong with this one. A safe bet for most all casual wear.
Too much Wood for my liking
by RC on Aug 18, 2016
I've tried this one sooooo many times in stores on paper and thought it was a good scent....and it is. So I ordered a 3ml from here. The problem I have with it is, that I don't get much vanilla or apple, mainly all that cuts thru is the cedar. And on me it's really strong.
If I got the apple pie, vanilla notes I'd be in heaven with this. But unfortunately the wood notes just over ride everything else on my skin.

Nice classic fragrance that many people like. It smells good,it last on your skin and it has a very inoffensive pleasant projection.
Club and sohphistication
by Elmir on May 16, 2016
Hard to believe a club scent to be sophisticated, however, Boss did something here that is amazing. It slaps you with a woody presence upon spraying and then if to say sorry becomes sweet, but before it turns feminine in nature it extends a warm hand to caress your nose. The dry down is to die for.
Amazing casual fragrance

This is one of my favorites, although I do think it is a little overpriced (retail price). This shines in the fall and winter, but can be worn on cool spring days as well.
great versatile scent
by Sean on Oct 10, 2015
This can be worn in almost any setting and weather, provided it is not too hot.
Well balanced scent

Love love love this smell!! The balance with spice, woods and sweet is perfect. I have used this for 10 years and its still my favorite.
by Zach on Apr 24, 2015
This is an amazing smelling scent for really any season. It smells delicious, home made apple pie. This scent is sure to get complimented. Also not over powering in any way. Highly recommend giving it a try
by Nazia on Feb 12, 2015
This scent is nice - the apple is fresh, and it's a bit spicy yet still sweet - but I feel like I've smelled things like this before. It feels a bit average to me, like I've smelled this on males everywhere.

Light and a little sweet. Great versatile scent that is sure to please most people.
Clean and warming
by Jeremie on Nov 14, 2013
Sillage: Moderate (B+)
Longevity: Moderate (B)
Originality: Creative fragrance, especially for a designer product (A-)
Craftsmanship: Nicely blended. Good quality. The notes came across realistic, especially the apple
Scent (Subjective): I love the apple at the top. Summer citrus scents are so common that one can hardly tell many of them apart. The crisp green apple is a nice alternative. Vanilla and cinnamon are restrained perfectly. No apple pie effect here. This stays fresh, crisp and clean.
Season: Early fall days.
Drydown: Mild mellowing effect. Not particularly dramatic (this is fine by me).
I personally find this to be a great fragrance and is definitly in my fall collection.
Refreshing and clean

A very light and refreshing scent, not too over powering which is great if you're wearing around co-workers.
