Weird But Good
by Patti on Aug 27, 2017
I admit I didn't get the hype surrounding this scent. On me I just get warm spicy patchouli but the more I wear it I notice more notes. It is a confusing fragrance but worth a try. I think you'll really like it.
Not for me.
by Hope on May 19, 2017
I prefer Alien to this. Angel is a bit off, to my taste, and quite strong... which in this case wasn't so great. I know a lot of people love it, though.
The one that's really unusual is Womanity. I got a sample of it and wondered to myself, "What the heck is going on here?" Now, all those crazy, mischievous notes have my appreciation.
by Leanne on May 18, 2017
This perfume changed the industry and my life. The patchouli chocolate vanilla combination is genius. This is one that's pretty dependent on body chemistry.
by Caitlyn on May 16, 2017
I own the Angel Muse full size and this once obviously the original. But I prefer the Angel Muse over this one even though they smell VERY similar. My advise, is smell them all then pick your favorite because they all basically smell the same with slight differences
The mature lady scent
by S. on Mar 21, 2017
This was my favorite smell on my mother when this was first released . Very strong, a little goes a long way.
by Amanda on Mar 7, 2017
Very very strong and lasts all day and into the night. This is a classic for a reason. Its almost powdery once it calms down but its a super unique powder. This is a must try.
Dirty patch and chocolate
by Denette on Feb 17, 2017
Angel is super strong and lasts 24 hours on my skin. I detect lots of chocolate and patchouli, and the patchouli does have an earthy, dirty quality to it. One light spritz is more than enough...too many sprays and you would choke everyone around you.
by KE on Feb 13, 2017
I appreciate the complexity of this fragrance, which is why I gave this four stars instead of less. It can definitely play differently at different times, which can be interesting. But unfortunately, this comes out too sweet and cloying with the combination of white chocolate and patchouli on me. I have even had to wash it off me because I felt like I was going to be sick from the strength of the smell. So, worth a try because it's iconic for a reason, but not for me.
My Winter Go-To Fragrance
by Mary Carole on Feb 13, 2017
Even though this fragrances has been around since the early 90's, I had never smelled it myself. My husband had mentioned this fragrance a few times after asking a woman in the store what she was wearing. That is SO not like my husband to ask a stranger what fragrance she is wearing so I knew he had to have really loved the scent in order to step out of his comfort zone. A few weeks later he bought me a bottle. At first sniff, I thought maybe he should get his nose checked but then after it dried down I realized that this was one very complex fragrance! It is sweet and sophisticated, the finest example of gourmand goodness I've ever tried. It's now my winter season "go-to" fragrance. I've been "Angeled"!
All good things

Please be as good as you sound , there is every ingredient you want in this, I will try.
a favorite, yet bizarre
by Leslie on Dec 7, 2016
I discovered this scent because it literally grabbed my attention from across a room - TWICE. On two separate occasions - I smelled a perfume on a person and was so draw to it I had to ask a stranger what it was - Angel - both times…I had to get it.
This perfume makes me think of strong, resinous honey dust, coating a very broad, clean wood. I read that this broad bass note is actually patchouli - but lacking it's recognizable hippie-head and instead reads like a sandalwood or a watery amber.
This scent actively moves back and forth between a sweet, dry, sometimes fruity, honey - to a mysterious, deep, and yet clean note - and it is this diametrically opposing - almost clashing effect that makes it such an interesting fragrance.
This is a strong scent, that is very active - not for someone that likes transparent & fleeting. Big sillage - will absolutely draw attention - you will not be able to forget you are wearing it…
..which is very good if you enjoy the scent.
Very unusual, completely worth experiencing.
by Gail on Sep 22, 2016
To me, Angel is the top perfume ever created. Appealing and totally perfect in every way.
by Ashley on Jul 18, 2016
This perfume smells like rotting grass and cotton candy sprinkled with dirt; the upside is that the strong scent only lasts for a short while. I was really disappointed because this seems to be a favorite on the internet. Maybe it just smells bad on me? Either way, definitely not a fan.
by Cindy on Jun 10, 2016
From a meter away, this smells sparkly and vanillic. The best, sweetest vanilla without it being buttery, and an orchid note, which makes the nose tingle. It makes me think of fairy god mothers and princesses. However, I could never personally wear it. It smells great from afar, just don't sniff your wrists. Way to much patchouli for my taste.
by Amber on Jun 8, 2016
I love this perfume. You need to be a bold and brave woman to wear it. I did not like it when I first tried it, but I am glad I tried again as it is now a favorite.
by Tatyana on Jun 7, 2016
It's loud and strong, it will let people know you are wearing it because it fills out the whole room. The staying power is excellent, no need to re-apply. I received multiple compliments when I wore it.
Not for me
by michelle on Jun 7, 2016
I wish this worked with my skin and that I got vanilla and chocolate but it doesn't. All I get is a soapy patchouli that reminds me of a manly soap like Irish spring.
by Alishia on May 9, 2016
You either love it or hate it. Thierry Mugler perfumes smell awful on my skin, but the people who love them will love Alien and Womanity. I wanted to like this and it does smell good on certain people but I can't pull it off.
Hell on a plate
by Rose on Apr 12, 2016
I've given this 5 stars, though I can't stand it, because I appreciate that it's become a classic and is very distinct. It has so many imitators, the most recent probably 'La Vie est Belle'.
Anyway, to me this evokes the 90s, along with L'eau d'Issey, I got sick of both perfumes since people tended to over spray them. Angel is so distinct - that patchouli fudge dirty/sweet thing - I can see why many find it sexy. It's pretty heavy though, most definitely to be avoided if you seek subtle elegance!
by MrsPress on Feb 27, 2016
I tried this but find it too hard to wear. It is much better on skin than on clothing. I tried applying only to my skin but it only lasted 20-30 minutes. What a disappointment!!! I would not suggest spraying on clothing because even though it will last (seemingly) forever, it smells medicinal and harsh on cloth. If it lasted on skin it would be a good scent!!!!
by Alicia on Feb 14, 2016
This is the perfume that launched a thousand copycats; most of them have died, Angel undaunted survives. It is polarizing (as you can see for the above reviews), it is also memorable. This is the gourmand of gourmands, a fragrance category that grew immensely because of it. Caramel, vanilla, chocolate and plenty of patch. A strong personality indeed. I love it.
It's Okay... for Someone Else
by rhapsodii on Jan 13, 2016
This fragrance is sweet and not terribly sophisticated. It is bold, however. What it lacks in grace it makes up for in sillage, I suppose.
It's not that it's a terrible scent -- it smells alright. It's just that, with all the exquisitely nuanced perfumes out there, why would I waste my time with this one? This is okay -- for someone else.
by ASHLEY on Dec 24, 2015
A sweet hint of candy with an undertone of musk. Nice.
Smells like Baby Powder
by Brianna on Dec 13, 2015
In terms of my body chemistry, Angel smells just like baby powder. It is nothing out of the extraordinary. Just an okay scent that lasts for quite awhile.
Angel by Thierry Mugler
by Janet on Sep 24, 2015
When a man asks what perfume you're wearing & says it smells great, you know this is the one. I liked it as soon as I put it on!
Where are the Bugs?
by Kadaffi on Aug 24, 2015
This was definitely not for me as all I got was bug spray. From opening to dry down it was bug spray. I tested it in my cubicle and one of my workmates asked me if I was spraying for bugs. I went to the bathroom and instantly washed it off my hands. I was hopeful about Thierry Mugler, but his scents are not for me as Alien and Womanity smelt equally awful on me.
Sweet, Non-Floral Fun
by Laura on Jun 25, 2015
I'm a floral fragrance gal and this doesn't really have any for me, but this one is nice. I know there are florals and fruit mentioned in the notes, but I don't detect any of them besides perhaps a hint of jasmine. I smell cotton candy, patchouli, vanilla, and maybe some caramel. These are the top listed notes and that's what you get. I can't fault the fragrance for not being a floral because that's not what it promised to be. Part of the reason I gave this a 5 is that it has 2 of my favorite things in a perfume - excellent lasting power and great sillage. I don't have to keep going to my wrist to try to catch a whiff after an hour which is lovely!
by Nazia on Mar 2, 2015
This is one of those scents where you think you've never smelled it and then you realize yes, you have. I don't know who in my past has worn this, but it is very familiar to me. I think in small doses it could be heavenly. It is definitely the original of all the fruitchoulis. I like this one, although I think I'd have to wait to wear it until it was not so recognizable (if I am still alive.)
Must say, the advertising for this perfume is PHENOMENAL. so dream-like.
Possibly my new signature scent!
by Nikki on Feb 20, 2015
I chose this scent because I'd heard a few of my favorite actresses enjoyed it, and several various "scent personality" quizzes had suggested it for me. When I initially smelled it from the vial, I was disappointed. It smelled... odd. And strong. But I decided to give it a chance anyways, because sometimes, like clothes, scents are better on person. And I was right! It was initially still strong, but as soon as it melded with my skin, it was one of the most beautiful scents I've ever smelled! I couldn't stop smelling my wrist! I'm so happy with this scent, it may become my new signature scent!
Patch and Sweets
by Emily on Dec 28, 2014
You had better like patchouli if this is to be your signature scent. This perfume started the dessert trend in the fragrance world, but it is not as literal or feminine as all of its imitators. This is a very strong scent, and you must be a very particular kind of person to pull it off.
just pure ick
by Stephanie on Nov 14, 2014
I don't usually hate perfumes as much as I hate this one - usually it's a mild dislike or indifference. There's only been a few that stick out in my memory as being truly awful. This is one of them.
Strong bold scent
by Niko on Oct 13, 2014
Angel is a lovely intense, bold scent. I get patchouli and chocolate mostly. Maybe a bit of honey too. Very nice when one feels spicy. (the smell brings me outdoors)
Like spicy wildflower honey
by Bridgette on Jun 5, 2014
It is spicy, but over a scent of light honey. It's nice for a spicy scent. I like it. I'd wear it with a sweet scent to balance them out. I ordered a small bottle.
Im not a fan>
by Adrienne on May 19, 2014
I know this has a cult following, but I am not a fan. But, in the perfumes defense I like more citrusy and fresh.
by G on May 18, 2014
The only way I can describe this perfume when I first sprayed it on is spicy. It gets in your nostrils and really wakes you up, not in a good way though. After smelling it after awhile, I realized that this perfume smells like weed. Yes, pot, marijuana, hemp. Smells awful.
Angel isn't heavenly
by Anita on Jan 30, 2014
I wanted to like this perfume. I'm a huge fan of Alien and I love oriental vanilla scents but this wasn't for me. From the moment I put it on al I could think of was that this scent is made for someone older (a lot older) and I'm pushing 40 so that is saying something. There is also a lingering smell of burning rubber which I just can't get past.
by Alexandra on Aug 9, 2013
a very "clean" scent without making you smelling like febreeze, fruity and addictive too.
Love Love Love Angel

Best Smelling Perfume ever.. Ive been wearing it ever since it came out and all the men I pass by tell me how wonderful I smell
old woman smell
by jennifer on May 13, 2013
i think it smells overbearingly like an old woman, and so did anyone who smelled me. i guess this scent doesn't mix well with me.
